How BizzContacts Technology Statistics Are Maintained

Why the numbers move

Installed-base figures are not fixed. Companies adopt new platforms and migrate off old ones, vendors rename and merge products, businesses open and close, and roles change hands. A count is therefore a reading taken at a point in time, which is why the dataset carries a version rather than a “last updated” stamp that implies daily accuracy.

Company counts and contact availability are different

A company count answers how many organizations are associated with a technology. A contact count answers how many business contacts are available at those organizations. One company can contribute many contacts, so the two are reported separately and never added together. Neither figure implies that a given contact personally operates the software.

Where figures come from. Counts are published only where an approved research figure is available. A dash indicates that BizzContacts does not currently publish a figure for that metric. No figure on this page is interpolated, averaged across incompatible sources or rounded upward.

What are technology installed base statistics?

Technology installed base statistics estimate how many companies are associated with or use a particular software product, based on available technology research, and how many business contacts sit at those companies. Sources and methodologies differ, so treat these as researched market estimates rather than vendor-certified licence counts unless a figure explicitly says otherwise.

What does “companies using software” mean?

It means companies a research source associates with that product, usually through public evidence such as vendor customer stories, job postings naming the product, filings or technology detection. It is not a vendor-certified licence count, and different research providers reach different totals for the same product.

How many technologies does BizzContacts track?

BizzContacts publishes an installed-base page for 143 technologies and products, and every one of them appears in the table on this page. The count is read from the catalog itself, so it changes when the catalog does.

Can I find companies using a specific software product?

Yes. Every technology in the table links to its own installed-base page, where you can request a list built around that product. Parent platforms and individual products are kept separate, so SAP and SAP S/4HANA are different lists.

Can I find companies using software in the USA?

Yes. U.S. targeting is available for every technology, whether or not a published U.S. figure appears in the table above. A dash in the USA column means no approved public figure, not that no U.S. data exists.

Can technology users be filtered by industry and company size?

Yes. A list can be narrowed by industry, company size, revenue band, country, state or city, and combined with the technology filter. Tell us the combination and we confirm the available count before you order.

Can I target decision-makers at companies using a specific technology?

Yes, and it is the most common request. Lists are usually built around named roles such as CIO, IT Director, ERP Manager, CFO or CHRO at companies associated with the technology, rather than around the company alone.

What is the difference between company counts and contact counts?

A company count is the number of organizations associated with a technology. A contact count is the number of business contacts available at those organizations, so it is normally much larger, and one company can contribute many contacts. The two are never added together.

How often is the technology database updated?
