BizzContacts contact lists are CAN-SPAM compliant when used as intended. This page covers our responsibilities, your responsibilities as a sender, and how the data is built to support compliant outreach.

1. Our data sourcing

Every email address in our database is sourced from publicly accessible business directories, conference registrations, public regulatory filings (NPI, state licensure), corporate domain records, and licensed data partners. We do not scrape personal email accounts (gmail, yahoo, hotmail). All addresses are professional work email.

2. Your responsibilities as a sender

When you send to a BizzContacts list, you are the sender under CAN-SPAM. You must: (a) not use deceptive headers, (b) not use deceptive subject lines, (c) identify your messages as ads where applicable, (d) include your valid physical postal address, (e) provide a clear opt-out mechanism, and (f) honor opt-out requests within 10 business days.

3. Opt-out handling

We maintain a master suppression list. When you ship an outreach campaign from a BizzContacts list, we strongly recommend cross-referencing your campaign against our suppression list (available via API) to filter out individuals who've opted out company-wide. New opt-outs from your campaign should be added to your own suppression list AND reported back to us at optout@bizzcontacts.com so we can apply them globally.

4. Physical address requirement

Every commercial email must include the sender's valid physical postal address. BizzContacts records include the contact's work address but not yours — you must add your own physical address to your email template before sending.

5. Header and subject line honesty

'From' name should clearly identify your company. Subject lines must reflect the content of the message — no 'Re:' or 'Fwd:' fakes, no false urgency. BizzContacts will refuse to deliver lists to senders we know are using deceptive practices.

6. What BizzContacts does not do

We do not send email on your behalf. We do not provide an ESP. We do not maintain the 'from' identity, the unsubscribe handling, or the sender reputation. Those are your responsibilities. We provide the verified list; you remain the sender under CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA, and any other applicable law.
