Psychologists email list

Verified Psychologists Email List for Behavioral Health, Telehealth, and Healthcare B2B Outreach

How does a behavioral health platform identify the 18,000 cognitive behavioral therapy specialists hidden inside the 106,000 licensed psychologists in the United States? The Psychologists Email List from BizzContacts captures these PhD and PsyD practitioners organized by practice area (CBT, DBT, neuropsychology, child and adolescent, health psychology, forensic), state psychology license, APA membership, and primary practice setting on every record.

Lower bounce rates show up where the source data is right. Campaigns hitting CBT-specialized psychologists with documented private practice settings convert at 3 to 5x the rate of campaigns hitting a generic licensed psychologist list. The Psychology Mailing List is built specifically for that signal, with practice area captured through proprietary outreach when state license records do not disclose it. Procurement-style buyers often request the same dataset as a Psychologist mailing database, Psychologist email lists, or Psychologists contact database, depending on internal nomenclature.

What is it

What is Psychologists Email List?

The Psychologists Email List is a verified file of contact information for licensed clinical, counseling, and school psychologists organized by practice area, state psychology license, APA membership, primary practice setting, and clinical specialization.

BizzContacts builds the Psychology Mailing List for B2B teams selling digital therapeutics, mental health assessment platforms, EHR systems built for psychology practice, neuropsychological testing platforms, APA-focused continuing education, and behavioral health platforms targeting psychologist private practices.

  • Direct email, mobile, NPI (where applicable), and state psychology license on every record.
  • Practice area tagged (CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT, psychodynamic, neuropsychology, child, health, forensic).
  • APA membership and APA division affiliations flagged.
  • Practice setting tagged (solo private practice, group practice, hospital, academic, school, VA).
BizzContacts Psychologists Email List sample dashboard showing a verified licensed psychologist record with full name, work email, phone, job title, practice, specialty clinical psychology, years of experience, education PhD in clinical psychology, license type, focus areas including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, relationship counseling, and decision makers — covering mental health professionals and behavioral health specialists.
What is included

What data is included in Psychologists Email List?

Psychology targeting runs on practice area and APA division signal. Every record in the Psychology Mailing List ships with the fields needed to write to the practitioner instead of the persona.

Take the full set or name the handful you will actually use, and we build the psychologist mailing database around your shortlist so you are not paying for columns nobody opens. Practice setting is the field buyers most often skip and most often regret skipping: a solo practitioner in private practice buys software on a card in an afternoon, while a hospital-based health psychologist needs a committee, and the same email cannot work for both. Field availability varies by region and by record, so your free sample shows exactly which columns are populated for your segment before you commit.

Coverage

What types of psychologists are covered?

Twelve segments, available individually or combined. Tags overlap on purpose: a child psychologist is also a clinical psychologist, and a neuropsychologist may also work in health psychology, so counts total more than the 106,000 US figure rather than forcing each practitioner into one box. Counts are the verified records currently carrying each tag.

58,400
Clinical psychologists (general)
Licensed clinical psychologists across CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, and psychodynamic practice areas. The largest single segment and the default audience for digital therapeutics, teletherapy networks, and practice management software. Most work in solo or group private practice, which means they buy their own tools rather than waiting on a committee.
12,800
Counseling psychologists
Licensed counseling psychologists with PhD or PsyD training in counseling psychology, focused on adjustment, career, relationship, and life-transition work rather than severe psychopathology. Heavily represented in university counselling centres and community mental health, which makes them reachable through institutional affiliation as well as private practice.
8,400
School psychologists
Licensed school psychologists, most NASP certified, working across K-12 districts on assessment, IEP eligibility, and behavioural intervention. Purchasing runs through district and special education budgets on an academic-year cycle, so timing matters more here than in any other segment.
11,200
Child and adolescent psychologists
Licensed psychologists specialising in paediatric, child, and adolescent populations, spanning children's hospitals, paediatric practices, and private clinics. A priority audience for family-facing mental health apps, paediatric assessment tools, and adolescent digital therapeutics.
8,400
Neuropsychologists
Board-certified or board-eligible neuropsychologists specialising in cognitive assessment, concussion, dementia, and neurological evaluation. They buy testing batteries, normative databases, and digital cognitive assessment platforms, and their purchase decisions are unusually evidence-driven and slow to switch.
3,900
Forensic psychologists
Psychologists conducting court-ordered evaluations, competency and risk assessments, custody evaluations, and expert testimony. They work with courts, correctional systems, and law firms rather than health systems, so the buying cycle and the compliance context both look different from clinical practice.
6,800
Health psychologists
Licensed psychologists working at the medical and psychological interface in hospitals, integrated primary care, oncology, cardiology, and pain programmes. The natural audience for behavioural medicine tools, chronic disease adherence programmes, and integrated care platforms.
2,400
Rehabilitation psychologists
Specialists supporting adjustment and recovery after injury, stroke, spinal cord damage, amputation, and chronic illness, based mostly in rehabilitation hospitals and inpatient units. Small but concentrated, and easy to reach through facility affiliation.
1,800
Sports psychologists
Psychologists working on performance, injury recovery, and mental skills with athletes, teams, and athletic departments. A distinct market with its own conferences and certification path, and one that general psychology files almost never separate out.
4,600
Industrial-organizational psychologists
Psychologists applying behavioural science to hiring, assessment, leadership development, and organisational design, working inside corporations and consultancies rather than clinics. They buy assessment platforms and HR analytics tools, and they are a B2B audience in their own right.
3,200
Educational psychologists
Psychologists focused on learning, instruction, and educational assessment across universities, districts, and research settings. They overlap with school psychology but sit closer to curriculum design, programme evaluation, and edtech evaluation.
5,300
Research psychologists
Academic and applied researchers in university departments, institutes, and industry labs who design studies rather than treat patients. The core audience for research software, participant recruitment platforms, academic publishers, and grant-funded collaboration.

Audience profile

Who are psychologists?

Licensed psychologists are doctoral-level (PhD or PsyD) mental health professionals trained in assessment, diagnosis, and psychological treatment of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Licensed psychologists do not prescribe medication in most US jurisdictions (except in Idaho, Iowa, Illinois, Louisiana, New Mexico, and a few federal settings where prescription privileges are authorized). Training pathways include 4 to 7 years of doctoral training, a one-year clinical internship, and one to two years of postdoctoral supervised practice before licensure. Practice areas include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, and many others. Specialty divisions include clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, neuropsychology (ABPN-certified), forensic psychology, health psychology, and pediatric psychology.

B2B teams target psychologists because the psychotherapy market is growing rapidly and psychologists drive treatment selection, assessment platform adoption, and digital therapeutic prescribing across private practice, integrated behavioral health, and academic settings. If the product is a digital therapeutic, a mental health assessment platform (PHQ-9, GAD-7, neuropsychological batteries), an EHR for psychology practice, an outcome measurement tool, or APA-aligned continuing education, the Psychology Contact Database places the campaign in front of the practitioners who shape the patient experience.

Outreach channels

Which channels can you run the psychologist list on?

Psychologists keep back-to-back client hours and check messages in narrow gaps between sessions, which changes both timing and channel. The file carries verified contact points across several channels so you can build a proper sequence instead of betting everything on one send.

Email outreachDirect dial callingMobile and SMSDirect mail to the practiceLinkedIn and socialConference and CE invitesWebinar promotionProgrammatic audience match

Tell us the channel mix and we scope the file to match, from verified direct dials for a calling motion to opt-in addresses for cold email and postal addresses for high-value mail into group practices and behavioural health centres.

Customization

Database customization: build your own psychologist list

Most campaigns run on a few hundred to a few thousand carefully chosen practitioners rather than the whole file. Combine any of the filters below and we build, verify, and deliver that segment, usually within one business day.

Geographic coverage

Region
Coverage
United States
106,000 licensed psychologists across all 50 states, the deepest file we hold and the only one carrying NPI numbers alongside state licence status. Density is heaviest in California, New York, Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. Targetable by state, city, ZIP code, or radius around a metro or conference venue
Canada
8,400 registered psychologists across provincial regulatory colleges and the Canadian Psychological Association, concentrated in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, and Alberta. CASL aligned for cross-border sends
United Kingdom & Ireland
10,750 covering HCPC registered practitioner psychologists and BPS chartered members across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland, spanning NHS psychological services, independent practice, and academic departments
Europe
27,200 across Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Poland, aligned to EFPA national associations. Psychology is a large and well-regulated profession across these markets, which makes Europe the strongest non-US region on this file. Every EEA and UK record runs on a documented GDPR lawful basis
Asia-Pacific
13,950 across Australia, India, Japan, New Zealand, and Singapore, including AHPRA registered psychologists in Australia and NZPB registrants in New Zealand. The Australian file of 7,600 is the second largest single-country file after the US
Latin America
9,800 across Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. Psychology is unusually widespread in Argentina and Brazil relative to population, so these markets carry more depth than their size would suggest
Middle East
1,150 across Israel and the UAE, concentrated in private clinics, hospital psychology departments, and international schools
Africa
1,250 concentrated in South Africa, across HPCSA registered psychologists in private practice, hospital services, and university departments

Figures are directional estimates of the active verified psychologist universe, not exact counts, and exclude doctoral students and pre-licensure postdoctoral fellows. Ask us for a state or metro-scoped psychologists mailing list and we will build and verify it within one business day. In practice that means you can order a California psychologists email list, a Texas psychologist database, a Florida psychologists mailing list, a New York psychologists email list, or a 50-mile radius around a single metro, without paying for national data you will never open.

Compliance & verification

Compliance and responsible use

The psychologists email list holds professional business contact information only. No patient data, no clinical notes, and no protected health information enters the pipeline at any point, which matters more in mental health than almost anywhere else. The file is GDPR ready for EU and UK targeting with documented lawful basis, CCPA compliant for California residents, CAN-SPAM compliant for US sends, and aligned with CASL in Canada. State psychology licences are re-verified weekly, opt-out requests are honoured across the whole database within 72 hours, and the suppression list is applied before every export. One point we want to be plain about: we do not claim HIPAA certification, because no such certification exists for a B2B marketing list, and any vendor advertising one is overstating what the rule covers. Responsibility for compliance is shared. We supply lawfully sourced, suppression-screened data; you are responsible for ensuring your own campaigns meet the email marketing, telemarketing, and data protection laws that apply in every market you contact, including accurate headers, clear identification, a valid postal address, and prompt handling of unsubscribes. Run your campaign approach past your own legal counsel before launch.

GDPR-ready
Lawful basis documented for EU and UK targeting
CAN-SPAM
Suppression and unsubscribe handling applied before every export
CCPA
California opt-out and deletion requests honoured within 72 hours
CASL
Canadian anti-spam compliance for cross-border sends
No PHI
B2B contact metadata only, never patient or clinical data
Licence verified
State psychology licence confirmed and re-checked weekly
Why BizzContacts

Benefits of buying the BizzContacts psychologists database

Sixteen reasons behavioral health platforms, digital therapeutic teams, and recruiters buy their psychology data from us rather than exporting a state board listing and hoping.

Practice area on every record
CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT, psychodynamic, neuropsychology, child, health, and forensic psychology practice areas tagged separately.
APA division affiliation
APA Division 12 (Clinical), 17 (Counseling), 40 (Neuropsychology), 53 (Child), 38 (Health) memberships tagged separately.
ABPP board certification
American Board of Professional Psychology specialty certifications tagged where applicable.
Practice setting
Solo private, group private, hospital, academic, VA, school, and integrated behavioral health tagged separately.
Teletherapy platform usage
Headway, Alma, Grow Therapy, SonderMind, and other teletherapy platform affiliations tagged where verified.
Weekly re-verification
Email, phone, primary practice affiliation, and state psychology license re-checked every seven days.
Better lead quality
Records are scoped to psychologists holding an active state licence, so the file is not padded with students, pre-licensure fellows, or lapsed registrations.
Higher campaign ROI
Fewer, better-matched contacts cost less to reach and convert at a higher rate than a bulk behavioral health file bought on volume alone.
Faster prospecting
Your team stops assembling lists and starts working them. Research hours move out of data gathering and into conversations.
Personalized outreach
Practice area, setting, population focus, and tenure give your copy something concrete to reference, which matters to an audience trained to notice when it is being handled generically.
Reduced marketing costs
Suppression screening and pre-export validation cut wasted sends, protecting both your budget and your sending domain.
Protected sender reputation
Pre-export SMTP validation and spam-trap screening keep hard bounces low, which protects every campaign you run after this one, not just this send.
Account-based marketing
Practice and hospital tagging lets you cover every relevant psychologist inside a group practice, health system, or district rather than the one name you had.
Market expansion
Coverage across 40+ countries lets you test a new geography with a scoped segment before committing a full market entry budget.
Healthcare recruitment
Filter by practice area, board certification, and years licensed to build a shortlist that matches the role rather than the credential label.
Bounce replacement
If hard bounces exceed our stated deliverability, replacement records ship free of charge within 30 days of delivery.

Ready to build your psychologists database?

Per-record pricing with volume tiers, delivery in 24 to 48 business hours, and free replacement of any hard bounces within 30 days.

What customers say

What buyers say about our psychology data

Digital health platforms, teletherapy networks, and behavioral health recruiters use the BizzContacts psychologists email list to open accounts and fill roles. Here is what three of them told us.

Psychologists notice a mass email faster than any audience we sell to. Being able to write separately to CBT and to psychodynamic practitioners, and mean it, was the difference between getting ignored and getting replies.
Elena R.
Head of Growth · Digital therapeutics company
We recruit clinicians state by state because licensure is state by state. Filtering on active licence plus who was not already on a competing network cut our sourcing time roughly in half.
Tomas B.
Director of Clinician Supply · Teletherapy network
Neuropsychology is a tiny segment and the board lists do not tell you who is actually testing. The board certification tag plus hospital affiliation got our assessment platform in front of the right hundred people instead of the wrong ten thousand.
Grace M.
VP Commercial · Cognitive assessment vendor

How we compare

Psychologists email list vs a state board download vs a general behavioral health file

Most teams start with a free state psychology board roster and give up somewhere around the third state. Here is what that route actually gives you, next to a general behavioral health file and next to this one.

State board rosters are public records published for licence verification, not for marketing, and each state publishes a different schema with different fields. They are genuinely useful for confirming a single licence. They are a poor foundation for a national campaign. The general-file and scraped-directory columns describe common patterns across the category, not any single named vendor.

Industries

Industries that use the psychologists email list

Psychologists sit at an unusual intersection: they are clinicians, small business owners, researchers, and educators at the same time, which is why so many different industries buy this file. Here is how each one puts it to work.

Healthcare IT

EHR, scheduling, billing, and clinical documentation vendors reach psychologists who run their own practices and therefore buy their own systems. Practice setting and practice size are the filters that separate a solo practitioner who decides alone from a group that runs a formal evaluation.

Mental Health SaaS and Apps

Digital therapeutics, symptom tracking, homework and journaling apps, and measurement-based care platforms reach the psychologists who recommend or prescribe them to clients. Practice area matters enormously here, since a CBT specialist and a psychodynamic practitioner will not adopt the same tool.

Telehealth Platforms

Teletherapy networks recruiting supply-side clinicians use the file to find licensed psychologists by state, since network coverage is licence-bound state by state. The teletherapy affiliation tag also shows who is already on a competing network and who is not.

Medical Device Companies

Neurofeedback, biofeedback, cognitive assessment hardware, and transcranial stimulation manufacturers reach neuropsychologists and health psychologists, filtered by board certification and hospital affiliation.

Healthcare Recruiters

Physician and behavioral health search firms reach licensed psychologists directly for hospital, VA, academic, school district, and integrated care roles, filtered by practice area, licence state, and years licensed.

Behavioral Health Companies

Integrated behavioral health providers, group practice roll-ups, and clinic networks use the file for both clinician recruitment and partnership development, using practice setting and group affiliation to find independent practices worth approaching.

Pharmaceutical Companies

Psychologists do not prescribe in most US jurisdictions, but they diagnose, refer, and shape treatment expectations, and they do prescribe in a handful of states. Medical affairs and patient support teams reach them for disease education and adherence programmes rather than detailing.

Universities and Medical Publishers

Graduate programmes, CE providers, textbook and assessment publishers, and journal marketers reach academic and research psychologists by department affiliation, plus practising clinicians who carry annual CE requirements tied to licence renewal.

Clinical Research

CROs and sponsors identify psychologists as investigators, raters, and referral sources for behavioral health trials, using academic affiliation, research tagging, and population focus as the qualifying filters.

Insurance Companies

Payers and behavioral health benefit managers use the file for provider network development, recruiting licensed psychologists into panels by state, speciality, and current network participation.

Data sources

How is the psychologists database sourced?

Psychology data needs more rigour than a scraped state board listing. Every record traces back to at least two of the nine inputs below, and we log which ones on the record itself, so if you ask where a contact came from we can tell you rather than guess.

State psychology licensing boards
Licensed psychologist status, licence number, issue state, and current standing across all 50 state boards. This is the backbone of the file and the only reliable way to exclude lapsed, retired, and pre-licensure practitioners.
American Psychological Association
APA member records and division affiliations. Division membership is a genuinely useful targeting layer because psychologists self-select into divisions by clinical interest, which no licence record reveals.
American Board of Professional Psychology
ABPP specialty board certification across clinical, counseling, neuropsychology, forensic, rehabilitation, and other specialties. Board certification is the cleanest signal of a genuine sub-specialty rather than a stated interest.
Federal NPI registry
Taxonomy code, licence state, and active status for psychologists who bill insurance and therefore hold an NPI. Coverage is partial by nature, since cash-pay private practitioners often have no NPI at all.
Conference attendee and presenter records
Published faculty, presenter, and attendee data from the APA Convention, division conferences, and specialty meetings. Confirms a practitioner is active and frequently reveals clinical focus and technology interest.
Practice and institutional directories
Staff listings from hospitals, university departments, school districts, VA facilities, group practices, and behavioral health centres give us current employer, setting, and job title, and catch practitioners who have moved.
Peer-reviewed publication records
Author affiliations from psychology journals confirm academic appointments and research focus. For research, educational, and neuropsychology segments this is often the most current affiliation data available anywhere.
Opt-in professional channels
Subscriptions to psychology journals, CE programmes, webinars, and product briefings where the psychologist consented to third-party contact. Consent basis and collection date are recorded against the record.
First-party BizzContacts outreach
Our own research team confirms what no public source holds reliably: current primary practice area, practice setting, teletherapy platform affiliation, population focus, and the direct line that actually reaches the practitioner.

Every source carries a documented consent or public-record basis, and nothing on this file was bought in bulk from another list vendor and resold. Records supported by only one source are held back rather than shipped, which is why the file is smaller than a scraped psychology directory and converts better than one.

Psychology data decays fast: practitioners move between private practice and institutional roles, licences renew on staggered state cycles, and a large share of the profession runs small businesses with changing domains. Every record passes through the five steps below before delivery, then repeats steps four and five for as long as it stays on the file.

Step 1: Source collection
Records are assembled from the nine inputs above, each with a documented consent or public-record basis. Source provenance is written onto the record at collection time rather than reconstructed later, which is what makes the two-source minimum enforceable instead of aspirational.
Step 2: AI validation
Automated checks reconcile each record against its sources: licence state against practice address, NPI taxonomy against claimed practice area, credential formatting (PhD, PsyD, EdD), email syntax and domain validity, and phone line type. Records that conflict or score low on confidence are flagged for a human rather than published with an assumption attached.
Step 3: Human verification
Our data team resolves everything the automated pass flagged. That means calling practices to confirm a psychologist still works there, checking board certification directly, clarifying practice area where the licence record is silent, and correcting affiliation after a move. It is the slowest step and the one that separates a verified file from a scraped one.
Step 4: SMTP verification
Immediately before export, every address is re-checked with an MX record lookup, an SMTP handshake, catch-all and role-account detection, and screening against known spam traps and disposable domains. Anything that fails is removed from your delivery rather than passed on as filler, which is how the file holds 98.1% accuracy at the point you receive it.
Step 5: Continuous database updates
The whole file runs on a weekly re-verification cycle covering email, phone, primary practice affiliation, and state licence status. Opt-outs and suppression requests apply across the database within 72 hours, and hard bounces above our stated deliverability are replaced free within 30 days.
